Rocky Marciano Bryan

Rocky was born in Greenwich, London, UK and was an ex – professional boxer. He started dancing at Marlowe Rooms in Sidcup, Kent as far back as 1979 and moved on to some of the legendary Jazz Clubs such as Flicks, Goochies, Lyceum All Dayers, Electric Ballroom, Hi-Hat, Blue Note, Jazz Café, Wonderland, Madame Jojos and Shiftless Shuffle to name a few

He has performed with various big artists including Tommy Chase, Courtney Pine, Jean Toussaint, and others. Rocky featured as a dancer in a Todd Terry music video and performed with various artists at the North Sea Jazz Festivals between 1988 and 1998. He later joined a group called The Dynamic Steps and performed a few gigs in Europe and in the U.K in the early nineties. Rocky have performed at Yale University U.S.A on 3 separate occasions, the most recent being April 2009 for professor Robert Farris Thompson. One was for Eddie Palmieri and another in front of the Brazillian Prime Minister.

In the 90’s Rocky joined the world acclaimed jazz co-tech dancers run by Perry Louis, they were involved in workshops and performances on stage and T.V. They were supporting acts for the likes of James Brown, Jamaroquai, Pharoah Sanders and many more. He performed in many European countries as well as a 2 week Sri Lankan tour with Dave O’ Higgins. Rocky danced with and for Irven Lewis ( a founder member of the Brothers In Jazz dance group ) on a number of occasions. He represented U.K jazz dancing with Snowboy in Milan in 2008.

Rocky has most recently been involved with AfroCuban Pati promotions with regard to performances and teaching jazz funk. We are really honoured to have such a talented individual on board.
