Lazaro Lopez Sanchez 

Lazaro Lopez affectionately known as “Ito” by his family and colleagues is one of the most talented and distinguished Afro-Cuban dancers around. He graduated with honours in 1989 from the Cuban National School of Art and Dance (ENA) in Havana and started dancing professionally with the leading folkloric dance company Raices Profundas.

Lazaro toured Mexico and Japan with the show “Noche Tropical” choreographed by Santiago Alfonso, working alongside famous artists such as the conga player Tata Güines and Omara Portuondo
Lazaro joined the folkloric dance company Pinos Nuevos and went on tour to various European countries and later joined Compañia Folklorica Cubana as a principal dancer, performing in the most prominent theatres of Cuba, like the Garcia Lorca, Carlos Marx and Teatro America.
He came to London to perform as a lead dancer in the famous West-End show Lady Salsa, and was Tropicana Tropics World Rueda Champion.
